At Metaschool (also searched as Meta school or MetaSchool), our mission of "For every child, a chance to learn" compels us to confront the real-world barriers that keep BECE, WASSCE/WAEC, NECO and IGCSE quality education out of reach. We recognise that while smartphone adoption is growing, a significant number of students do not have access to these devices or the reliable internet they require.

To turn this commitment into a reality, we are pioneering an initiative to make our core learning modules accessible through USSD and SMS. USSD technology allows for interactive, menu-based navigation on any mobile phone, without needing an internet connection. By dialling a simple code, a student in a village with only a 2G network can access a full menu of BECE and WASSCE subjects, select a topic, and begin their lesson, transforming the most basic feature phone into a powerful learning tool.

The true innovation lies in how we deliver our AI-powered learning through USSD and mobile apps. Once a student selects a topic via the USSD menu, our system delivers concise lessons directly to their phone as SMS messages. After the lesson, our AI engages the student with interactive quizzes that mirror BECE Past Questions, WASSCE Past Questions and typical JAMB or NECO prompts.

We are building an intelligent, responsive and personalised tutor that fits into the pocket of every child, regardless of the device they own. By harnessing USSD, SMS and an always-on virtual school, we make WAEC, IGCSE and A Level support available anywhere while keeping human mentors at the centre of the experience.
